Welcome to Mrs. Laviolette’s Grade 4 class!
This is my first year teaching Grade 4 at Notre Dame and my seventh year of teaching with GSACRD. As well as being a classroom teacher, I have had the opportunity to be the Pedagogy and Technology Lead at Notre Dame for grades 1-4. This position has allowed me to learn and implement new and fun ways to learn in a classroom as well as how to utilize technology in the classroom efficiently and effectively. I am excited to continue to use what I have learnt in the classroom to encourage deeper student learning and engagement!
I have 2 sons named Jude (6 years old) and Nash (1 year old), three dogs names Montana (9 years old), Arya (4 years old) and Maple (5 months old), and three cats names Loki (8 years old), Hela (2 years old), and Starlord (2 years old). I am also a cheer coach for the GSACRD St. Albert Jr High Cheer Team the “Chargers”, and to the Notre Dame “Huskies”.
As a teacher, my first priority is to build relationships with the students both on a personal and group level. I believe that a strong relationship with students helps to deepen their learning. In addition to a teacher-student relationship, I also strive for a strong connection between the parents/guardians and myself. An open line of communication between the teacher and the parent/guardian is key to student success throughout the school year.
I am looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year and the memories we will make together!
